A heart for justice is at the core of The Table. And for us it starts with the basic belief that everyone deserves to eat, and everyone deserves to eat well.
Our partnership with Inspire DC has helped us create some of the most dynamic and hospitable food pantries in DC. By partnering together, we were able to give out over 80,000 pounds of food in 2016. And we offer good food, including fresh produce and lots of healthy options. Not only is the food healthy and fresh, most of it is locally sourced as our team gleans local produce from the Columbia Heights Farmers Market in the warmer months. With our partners, over a thousand meals are provided to families in need each month.
The Table operates a pantry in Columbia Heights (1st & 3rd Saturday) and we help support a pantry on H Street run by Douglas Memorial UMC and a new pantry opening in Trinidad. To serve at our pantry in Columbia Heights contact Hillary Miller.
In the Spring of 2017 we began a partnership with Loaves and Fishes in northwest DC that allows us to sponsor and operate one soup kitchen a month out of their facility. We serve a healthy meal to 100+ neighbors on the second Saturday of every month. We invite you to join us! Contact Megan Wagoner to serve.
