This Advent, as with many past, our world seems particularly uncertain. However, in spite of the suffering and uncertainty of our world, in this season we are choosing to keep our eyes set on wonder. We believe God is still at work in our world and we are surrounded by beauty and hope. During this advent season, we pray God would give us eyes to see wonder in our world and courage to join God in the renewal of all things.

As part of this mission, every Advent season we take a Legacy Offering to support the work God is doing in our community and in our world. As a church, our goal is to leave a legacy that makes an outsized impact for a community our size. This Advent, our Legacy Offering will support the incredible work of Miriam's Kitchen, a nonprofit on mission to end chronic homelessness in Washington, D.C. Read below to learn more about the wonderful efforts of this organization, how they are changing the landscape of homelessness in our city, and view some stories of lives changed by their work.

Best of all, thanks to a generous donor, we have a matching gift of up to $10,000.00 for every penny we raise for Miriam's Kitchen. We hope and pray you will thoughtfully consider partnering with us in leaving a legacy this advent season.

Miriam’s Kitchen was founded in 1983 to meet the urgent needs of people experiencing homelessness in downtown Washington, DC. Since that time it has grown into one of the best known providers of services to DC’s low income population. They provide case management, healthy meals, housing services, art therapy, and advocate for a more just and equitable DC.
