Newcomers brunches are a great way to meet other new attendees at The Table and learn a bit about our community! Newcomers brunches happen the first Saturday of every month and alternate between different neighborhoods around the city. If you have questions, email Lauren, our Newcomers Brunch Coordinator.

If you typically attend our Downtown Parish, know that our CoHi building is two blocks from the green/yellow line at the Columbia Heights metro. Street parking is free and there is a parking garage a few blocks away near the Target/DC USA.
What better way to celebrate fall has arrived than with a chili cook off? Our annual competition will happen October 29th after services at our CoHi and Downtown Parishes. With four categories, we're bound to have some tasty options competing for the number one slot!
Our four categories are:
- Best Original Recipe
- Best Vegetarian Recipe
- Best Meat-Eaters Recipe
- Best DC Inspired Recipe
If you don't want to compete, we'd love for you to sign up to bring some side dishes or beverages. To sign-up for the competition or to bring sides, click the button of your parish below.
We hope you'll join us for a special service led by Aaron Niequist, a notable worship leader, speaker, and musician. In 2014 Aaron helped spearhead a gathering called The Practice in the chapel of Willow Creek Church in South Barrington, Illinois. The Practice was and continues to be a holy experiment where the worship experience draws from historic disciplines such as communion, liturgy, Lectio Devina, and prayer. Together the congregation strives to togeher learn the unforced rhythms of grace.
On October 15, our church will be returning to DC after a weekend away on retreat. We will not have a morning service in Columbia Heights. Rather, we will have one joint service at 5 p.m. at our Downtown Parish (945 G Street NW). Aaron will guide us through a worship experience similar to the practice. We're looking forward to worshiping together as one church and welcoming Aaron into our community.
Each year, we spend time as a church family growing, laughing, and learning together at RESET. RESET 2017 is an all-church retreat centered around growing as leaders and dreaming about the future of our church. God wants to do something through us as we move forward this year and into 2018. But in order for that to happen we need to prepare and position ourselves to be ready for what God has to teach us. That's where RESET comes in!
At the Table, we believe water baptism is a holy sacrament. Baptism is a celebration of one's decision to follow Jesus Christ and claim him as your personal Lord and Savior. It’s a beautiful symbol of dying to the old and being raised in the way of Jesus, the way of love.
We are looking forward to celebrating baptisms on June 11 at our CoHi Parish. We'll see you at 10:30 a.m. for a joint-parish service (no Downtown service this Sunday) and following service we'll share in a potluck celebration! Please click on the button below to sign up to bring a dish.
Life was never meant to be lived alone. We really are better together. So, at The Table, we love the idea of gathering around a table, telling good stories and eating good food. Every few months, members of The Table open up their home and welcome in guests from the church. It’s a blast and consistently the most popular activity at The Table.
Dinner Party registration is closed! We're sorry to miss you this time around but be on the look out for our next round of parties. If you have any questions, email Sean.
Engaging Homelessness acts as a way to equip people to interact, in a thoughtful and dignifying way, with those those that are experiencing homelessness. In this short seminar, Alli McGill, founder of Lazarus Ministries, will cover the general topic of homelessness, share some insight into the true needs of the homeless community, discuss lessons learned through the years, and tell the story of how and why Lazarus was founded. To learn more about Lazarus and this seminar, click here.
Please RSVP below so we know how many people to expect. Feel free to invite friends and members from your neighborhood and/or church community! Email firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.

Kate and Alex Burch will lead a seminar focused on how to align your spending and saving with your values. In this one-day intensive course, we will do the bold work of identifying and articulating our values and long-term financial goals and get into the nitty-gritty of personal finance. We will discuss the ways faith informs our spending and how to align financial strategies to our goals and values. The course covers content from the book Free: Spending Your Time and Money on What Matters Most by Mark Scandrette. The course is highly interactive and will focus on group discussions. Participants should come to the course with a basic understanding of their own finances (how much they earn, save, and spend).
Some topics we will discuss together include:
- What ingrained beliefs do you hold about money?
- What are your core values?
- How should Christians approach finances?
- What are your long-term financial goals?
- How can you live out your values through each aspect of personal finance (earning, saving, spending, taxes, and investments)?
Participants will come away from the course with an understanding and articulation of their values and long-term financial goals and strategies for aligning your finances with your values.
The course is open to anyone (not just Table folks) and all are welcome! Lunch and snacks will be provided. Also, please let Kate know if you are interested in childcare.
Email Kate if you'd like to attend: email@example.com
