About

Kevin Lum currently serve as the Lead Pastor of The Table Church, an innovative and diverse, staff-lead, multi-site church in the heart of Washington, DC. He and his wife Charla planted the church in their dining room in 2013 and have seen it become a flourishing congregation.

Prior to that he served as the coordinator of Faith & Justice Churches for Sojourners. Faith & Justice Churches is a unique network that provides a place for churches across the country to receive much needed resources and a place to connect with other like-minded ministers. The network is in its early stages, but is on track to be a mobilizing force of churches across the country on important issues such as poverty
reduction.

Prior to coming on staff at Sojourners, Kevin served, as the Assistant Director of Reaching Our, an organization that provided medical care, much needed food, legal aide and a host of other services to the poor of Oklahoma City. Also during his time there, he established and directed the United Families Project, which brought community families together for a meal, a time of fellowship and life-skills training.

Following his time at Reaching Our City, Kevin served as the Assistant Director of the Bresee Institute, which provided urban ministry training to seminary students. While at Bresse, Lum also had the unique opportunity to direct and participate in a multi-faith training program at Leavenworth Federal Prison.

Kevin earned his bachelors in theology at Southern Nazarene University and and a Masters of Divinity at Nazarene Theological Seminary. During his studies Kevin has placed a special emphasis on the history of evangelical social action, urban ministry, social justice and post-modern theology.

Kevin considers himself an amateur theologian, a news/political junkie and a book-a-holic. Kevin lives with his wife Charla and daughter Eloise on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC.
