LM: January 2019

Hey Leaders!

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and you're ready to jump into what God has planned for you this year. Welcome to the January edition of The Table Leadership Monthly. If you're new, welcome! This is a monthlynewsletter that alerts leadership to everything going on at the church. Older editions are stored here.

This Sunday was set to be our last service at our current building in Columbia Heights (1459 Columbia Rd NW). We will have one service there at 10:15 a.m. on Sunday.

Over the holidays GALA Theater walked back parts of the agreement they made with us and we've been in discussion on how to move forward. We were notified today that GALA still wants to have us but given the changes they are offering to our contract, we are discerning what's best for our community. Our trustees have a call tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. to figure out a game plan. We most likely are still moving there but we may need to wait until February. As soon as we have more information, we will let you know. We're trusting God will provide a way forward and Kevin plans to update the congregation on Sunday. Please continue to pray for open doors, provision, and wisdom/clarity for leadership.

We continue to search for a new home for the Columbia Heights Food Pantry that meets at 1459 Columbia Rd NW on the first and third Saturday of the month.

Re:Focus: Our new sermon series, Re:Focus, begins this Sunday! Join us as Pastor Kevin explores a disruptive and powerful question as we enter this new season.

21 Days of Prayer: Every January, begin the new year with 21 days of prayer and fasting! We are starting together this Sunday, January 6. Resources and daily prayer prompts are available atthetablechurch.org/prayfirst. This season, we are going to try mid-week prayer gatherings on Wednesdays instead of Saturday gatherings. Our mid-week prayer and worship gatherings will be at 7 p.m. on January 9, 16, and 23 at the Downtown Parish. Please invite your teams / dinner parties to attend with you!

ALL-IN Team Night: Our first ALL-IN Team Night of the year will be on Wednesday, February 6. Save the date!

Dinner Party Leader Trainings: Josh McComas (Dir. of Community Ministry) will host two trainings later this month on January 20 and 27 for anyone interested in serving as a Dinner Party leader! Begin praying for future leaders and encourage people you know with leadership potential to attend a training to learn more. People interested can emailjoshua@thetabledc.org.

Next Steps Track: We'd like to expand our team of Next Steps teachers! If you're interested in teaching Making The Table Home, Discover Your Purpose, or Leading at The Table, email me and I'll share more information.
